Positive Duty Standards

Under the Sex Discrimination Act, organisations like LSC&PH have a legal duty to take ‘reasonable and proportionate measures’ to eliminate relevant unlawful conduct as far as possible, like sexual harassment and discrimination.
Positive Duty aims to create systemic change by preventing unlawful conduct from happening in the first place, rather than reacting to conduct after it has occurred and already caused harm. This is because preventative action that addresses relevant unlawful conduct at a systemic level is more effective at creating safe, respectful and inclusive workplaces.
This self paced online module explores our organisational obligations while reinforcing a culture of respect for others.
